Some divers are also notable for their involvement with environmental issues. Bill Nye, an environmentalist, was accidentally thrown overboard by his father and became interested in diving. He's now one of the most influential environmentalists in the world and the president of the Ocean Futures Society, a nonprofit marine education organization. Lloyd Bridges is another important diver. He popularized the sport by creating the TV series Sea Hunt from 1957 to 1962.

Tom Cruise is one of the most famous celebrities in the world and he is a certified scuba diver. He's done many underwater stunts during his career. He also completed freediving training for Mission Impossible. Tom held his breath for six minute in one scene!

Kate Hudson had to get certified in scuba divers to be part "Fool's Gold". Although she was initially scared of diving, she eventually completed her course and became a certified diver. She loves scubadiving!

Many people are curious about why James Cameron is such a well-known diver. Because he is a filmmaker, he is most likely one of the most famous people in the world. However, despite his busy schedule, he made time to attend Beneath the Sea in New York. His busy schedule was due in part to his involvement with James Cameron Awards. Zale Perry

American diver Zale Perry, a writer and writer from America, has dedicated her entire life to the sport. She was born in Milwaukee and discovered diving early on. Zale was a skin diver and scuba diver who became a pioneer of scuba diving in the 1950s. Zale was also an aquatic specialist and a pioneer in underwater equipment testing. In 1955, Sports Illustrated published a cover featuring her. She was later a scuba instructor, and she began to photograph under water.

Greg Louganis

Greg Louganis, an internationally recognized diver, has a unique background that includes acting and sport. As a child, Louganis was a judoka and then a diver. After graduating from the University of California, Irvine, he decided to pursue a career in acting. After taking acting lessons, he started to appear in commercials. He also started acting in television dramas.

Alexandre Despatie

Alexandre Despatie, a Canadian diver was born June 8, 1985. He is the first diver who won three World Championships at one time. His accomplishment earned him a place as one of the top world divers. He is also a broadcaster who anchors the French-language coverage of the Olympic Winter Games.

Mike Nelson

Mike Nelson is a well-known diver. He was also a regular on "Mike Nelson", a television show that aired exclusively on NBC. He was a diver free-lance and a former Navy Frogman. His expertise on diving allowed him to save everything from a bicycle to a nuclear missile. The show also featured voice-over narration by Lloyd Bridges.
