Dive masters are professionals who help others go underwater. They lead organized and recreational dives. Dive master certification is required in many countries for divers who have to be a supervisor or guide. However, not everyone who wants to be a dive master can get a job in this field. However, if you have the right qualifications, you can become a dive master. These are just a few of the many benefits that come with becoming a diving master.
Dive master job description
What is the job description of a dive master? A variety of tasks are involved, such as supervising customers, reviewing the risks of diving and delivering briefings to guide groups through a dive. However, a job description for a dive master can be much more varied. A dive master may be responsible for several different aspects of a dive shop, including the general operation and social media presence.
Instructors in diving teach and oversee scuba techniques in open or swimming water. They can also organize and supervise activities other than training such as navigation. Open water instructors lead students through the tour portion of dives. This includes the navigation exercise as well as the surface swim portion. The job description of a dive instructor may also include directing certified divers through a scuba review course. Diver instructors have different legal responsibilities depending on where they live. In certain countries, however, the legal responsibility of diving instructors is exempted if the instructor signs a waiver.
Certification requirements
To be a good divemaster, you must complete a course. Divemaster classes cover topics such as managing divers, setting up dive sites, and finding the best flow. The minimum number of dives candidates need to have completed must be at least 60. Divers may also be assisted by divemasters to improve their theory and skills.
Dive masters have to take courses in addition. They also need to pass a two-part exam. Candidats must score at most 75% for each section of the exam to pass it. The eRDPML and the PADI Instructor Manual will be used for the exam. Students will also have to prepare an emergency plan and perform five water skills exercises. The combined scores must be at least fifteen. After completion of the course, divers must obtain certification.
Internship requirement
You have many internship options for becoming a Divemaster. You have the option to help set up dive sites or assist with other PADI courses, depending on what you prefer. As a skill circuit assistant, you may be required. The internship will follow a specific pattern. An internship typically lasts for eight weeks. During the same time, you might become an Advanced Open Water Diver. After four to six months of training, you may become a Divemaster/Diveguide.
You may also be able to find a free internship for Divemasters in addition to paid internships. While free internship options are not ideal, you will have a lot of time to study and get advice from a Divemaster. You may also be eligible to receive manuals, certification, or equipment as part your internship. Be aware of all requirements before you sign up for any Divemaster course.
