Scuba Diving's Essential Equipment

What is the essential scuba diving equipment? This article will discuss the types of scuba diving equipment that you will need for your adventure. These are the Face mask, Submersible pressure gage, Buoyancy compensation, Backplate and Submersible pressure regulator. The regulator is also covered. Each piece of equipment has a different importance depending on the situation. These pieces will ensure you are safe diving. But how do I know what items to get?

Face mask

There are several factors you should consider when choosing a face mask for your scuba diving equipment. It doesn't really matter if you want to dive for pleasure, or for work. The most important thing is what kind of diving you will use it for. The type of mask you choose should allow you to breathe through the nose while allowing water to drain away from the bottom. A majority of diving masks have an edge tilting to the skirt that draws water away from the bottom. Some have a purge valve that can be used to empty the mask.

Submersible pressure gauge

Scuba divers carry a gauge that indicates air pressure in their scuba tank, current depth, dive time, and direction of travel. You can attach the gauge to your regulator by attaching it via a high-pressure tube. It is often easy to use and comes with a wristband. The submersible pressure gauge displays the amount of air remaining in a cylinder and is measured in pounds per square inch (Psi) in the United States.

Backplate

You can stay underwater safe by using scuba diving equipment's backplate. The standard for technical divers is the metal backplate, but not everyone should use one. Divers are often misled into believing that a metal backplate is the best way to dive. But the backplate's history is far more complicated than that. The following are facts and figures about your backplate.

Compass

Scuba divers should always take a compass along with them when diving. There are many different types of compasses, but they all require the diver's hands to be fully open. Most commonly, a compass mounted on a table is used. It's best for survey work because you need to be level to obtain an accurate bearing. However it's not very useful when you are under water.
